Your insurers, to clients or principal contractors if you are acting as a sub-contractor on site and to be able to show to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) that you are taking your responsibilities seriously. The purpose of an investigation is to discover what caused the incident and what, if any, steps to take to prevent a recurrence. This sort of report can feed into improvement programmes and assist auditors with reviews of the Safety Management Systems. All of these are carried out professionally and when instructed by your solicitor and as appropriate, subject to Legal Privilege.
